The Course Aims and Objectives
Aims:
To prepare your drivers to cope with the difficulties they may encounter & how to deal with them when faced with the need to evacuate.
Objectives:
- Recognise common causes of vehicle fires
- Know how to reduce the risk of PCV vehicle fires
- Know when and how to use a fire extinguisher
- Know how to safely evacuate a vehicle
The Course itself
Programme Outline:
Designed to ensure that staff and drivers are equipped with the knowledge & understanding of the problems involved in dealing with the dangers of a PCV vehicle fire & to manage the safety of the occupants and passengers.
Classroom:
Initial classroom theory will familiarise clients with the risks & dangers of a vehicle fire & provides an easy to follow protocol to ensure the safe vehicle evacuation.
Practical Session:
Clients will have the opportunity to put into practice what has been discussed in the theory session.
Smoke generators are used in the minibus, bus or coach to allow drivers to experience the process of PCV vehicle evacuation.
